Chews Lane Appartments - Theatrette.

The Chews Lane project was headed by Athfield Architects, LT McGuinnes and Willis Bond.  These organisations are respected for their desire for excellence.  The body of work from each of these companies is testiment to the ethos of quality fitted design application.

So, when Kadima was approached to fit out the theatrette within the appartment project, we knew it would need to be a product of hifgh standard...our speciality!

Bespoke theatre seating can always be a fabulous opportunity for design expression.  However, there are always considerations such as servicability, practical ergonomics and, importantly...spacial constrictions.    We worked at a very early stage with Athfield Architects to ensure that the rake of the theatre, as well as the door, screen and aisle positioning would allow us to create seating to the standard the client desired.   After a period of colour and textile consultation, a premium New Zealand leather was selected for its servicability and longevity.   The leather was applied in a quilted system to the seats, which were designed in handed pairs in order to allow a good deal of personal space, as well as a dividing drink table/armrest.

The result is a gorgeous, sumptuous leather theatre seat that echos the golden age of theatre from the 1930's to the 1940's. Flute quilted with a subtle contrast double stitching and an inner sprung comfort level for the big game or the epic movie, this is a seat worthy of a private theatre.
